Hydeaway Bay                                                                           Hot and Sunny

Drove into Airlie Beach to find an auto-electrician.  Book the trailer in for the next morning before we left for Bowen.

The reconstruction of the main street in Airlie Beach is finished and looks good.

Hydeaway and Dingo Beach

Hydeaway Bay                                                              Bright and Sunny

Early morning walk and then back to fix a few things.  Tezza moved the bracket for the spare wheel so all is good now and we have extra space in the back of the Triton.  Spent some r n r at the beach and then dinner in the evening at the Dingo Beach Pub.

Arrived back home and later that evening the electrics on the trailer crashed - no lights!!!!  What next?

Hydeaway Bay

Hydeaway Bay - The Whitsundays                                A bit cloudy

On the way to Hydeaway we called into Carmila Beach - a lovely free camping area by the beach amongst the trees - good camp sites.  We parked and walked down the beach for a better look but it suddenly poured down with rain.  We sheltered under the awning of a tent hoping the owners wouldn't mind.  After a while they returned - a lovely young couple - he was Irish and she was a Pommy with a charming dog.  We stayed chatting to them for an hour - long after it stopped raining.  They had been travelling & living in the camper tailer for 14 months.  They told us about many interesting free camp sites where we were heading.  We invited them to camp at our place in Cooroy when we returned.

Stopped for lunch at Kuttabul.  Met another young couple from Tasmania also travelling with a camper-trailer.  Another interesting chat about camper-trailers and the do's and dont's.

Checked in at Hydeaway Bay Caravan Park where we stayed last year.  Spent the arvo on Cape Gloucester Beach.

Cooroy to Waverley

Cooroy - Waverley                                                          Sunny with blue skies    High 27C

Ready to leave after the problems of yesterday (the winch on the camper-trailer packed up and Terry had to go into Noosa to purchase a new one.  He then had to fit it but the new winch needed  more space and the spare tyre had to be transferred temporarily into the car).

Anyway we were finally ready to leave - Dreampot filled for dinner tonight, sandwiches made for a quick lunch and on the road for 6.30am.

Morning tea at Childers - best cream donuts!

I was investigating the CB radio that we had installed for emergency circumstances.  No idea how it works - trial & error.  I got the shock of my life when a booming Ozzy trucky answered "Yo!....something something something!"  I dropped the mike like a hot potato.

Rocky - stopped for lunch at the Tropic of Capricorn marker and visited BCF for a battery fan - we reckon that it is going to be HOT in the middle of Oz.

Waverley - first night stop at the free rest area beside a noisy Bruce Highway.
